Drawings are often an affordable way to break into the art market and for many collectors they can become the whole focus of a collection.
Drawing is perhaps the most fundamental of the visual creative impulses and whilst it does not necessarily underpin many contemporary paintings in the way that it did in the past, it nevertheless remains a vital part of most artists' language. It is through drawing that most artists work things out, it is how they communicate with themselves in order better to communicate with us. It is the immediacy of the marks and lines which spell out the message of a drawing that makes it so fascinating.
We are particularly interested in showing drawings which take the form of fully finished works of art in their own right whether rigorously observational drawings or imaginative wanderings. This represents a very rich seam in contemporary art from which exciting and rewarding discoveries can be made.
We usually have one or two exhibitions of drawings a year - sometimes mixed and sometimes solo exhibitions.
