JOHN BAWTREE - RECENT PAINTINGS

John Bawtree originally trained and qualified as an architect but his desire for self expression in painting soon led him to embark on the life of a full-time artist. His successful career since then has spanned twenty five years and a similar number of countries. Wherever he works, John brings an architect's eye combined with an acute awareness of light to his subject matter. For this exhibition, his seventh, at the gallery, he has concentrated on locations closer to home principally France and England although a small number of paintings of Mexico and Venice have crept in.

John Bawtree has had over thirty one man exhibitions and has been shown at the RA Summer Exhibitions, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the New English Art Club.
